The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on youths in the South-East to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s policies, framing their support as critical to unlocking democratic dividends and fostering national development. Mrs. Regina Iroha, NOA’s South-East Zonal Director, issued the appeal during a working visit to the agency’s Ebonyi State office in Abakaliki, where she criticized lukewarm participation in federal empowerment programs, particularly the student loan scheme.
“President Tinubu’s administration is for every citizen, with the youth at its heart,” Iroha stated, expressing concern over the region’s tepid response to initiatives rolled out post-fuel subsidy removal. She emphasized the need for intensified grassroots campaigns to rebuild public trust, noting, “We must reorient mindsets toward the value of labor and confidence in governance.”
While acknowledging federal efforts to cushion economic hardships, including subsidized loans and social interventions, Iroha lamented low enrollment rates and urged NOA staff to deepen community engagement. “The Director-General is committed to equipping us with modern tools, but success hinges on your dedication,” she told personnel, assuring them of institutional backing.
Ebonyi State NOA Director Theophilus Nwokpor pledged to prioritize rural sensitization, highlighting the National Values Charter as a cornerstone for reinforcing civic responsibility and fostering stronger citizen-leader relations.
