The 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has strongly refuted claims that he is planning to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reacting to recent statements by Ebonyi APC Chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha, suggesting that Odii is considering a move to the ruling party, the businessman and politician issued a firm denial, dismissing the comments as baseless and misleading.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Odii made his position unmistakably clear: “Let me categorically state that I am not considering joining the APC, now or in the foreseeable future. I am yet to see any compelling reason, ideological, political, or developmental, that would warrant such a decision.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful leadership and people-centered governance, stressing that his political values are rooted in justice, equity, and service—not opportunism.
While acknowledging Emegha’s right to promote his party, Odii cautioned against what he described as speculative political narratives. “I urge political actors, especially those in leadership positions, to refrain from statements that may mislead the public or distort the political landscape of Ebonyi State.”
