As the leadership crisis within the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) deepens, an Abia State chapter member, Mr. David Onyebuchi Amalaha, has dragged the national executive of the association to the Abia State High Court in Umuahia, seeking the removal of its leadership and N50 million in general damages.
The suit, marked HC/UM/CS/92/2025 and filed by Dr. U.R. Ndubuka on behalf of the plaintiff, challenges the legitimacy of the national executive led by Ejezie Emeka Rollas. Amalaha is urging the court to nullify the election that brought Rollas into office and restrain him and his executives from parading themselves as national officers of the guild.
He is also asking the court to compel the defendants to refund all monies withdrawn from the AGN’s accounts from 2019 to date.
The plaintiff, who described himself as a bonafide member of AGN in Abia State, wants the court to restore accountability and transparency in the guild’s leadership.
The matter was slated for hearing yesterday, June 24, 2025, at the Umuahia division of the Abia State High Court.
