Traders at Ogbaru Main Market in Onitsha, Anambra State, have pledged support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election ahead of the November 2025 governorship poll. The endorsement, announced during the market’s 40th-anniversary celebration, highlights Soludo’s achievements in security and infrastructure as pivotal to their decision.
Market Chairman Chief Ndubuisi Ochugo emphasized the governor’s “visible strides” in governance, stating, “Our endorsement aligns with our collective aspiration for a better Anambra. Continuity will consolidate progress.” He urged residents to rally behind Soludo’s developmental agenda.
Key officials, including Hon. Evaristus Uba (Special Adviser on Trade) and Chief Chineye Ukoh (Security Outfit DG), praised the administration for restoring peace in Onitsha. “The era of sleepless nights due to insecurity is over,” Ukoh declared, crediting Soludo with renewing public trust.
The motion for endorsement was formally moved by Anambra House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze and seconded by Ogbaru Market Board Chairman Chief J.I. Ejison. Traders called on voters statewide to support Soludo and his All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party, framing the election as a referendum on sustained development.
