Ebonyi State has earned national praise following its impressive performance in the 2024 National Examination Council (NECO) exams, placing among the top three performing states in the country.
According to data released by research firm Statisense, Ebonyi joined Abia and Imo States at the top of the chart, with 80.55% of its candidates scoring five credits and above—including English and Mathematics.
The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Hon. Jude Chikadibia Okpor, hailed the accomplishment as strong proof of the educational reforms and policies championed by Governor Francis Nwifuru’s administration.
“This academic feat is a reliable pointer to the fact that Ebonyi people were right in their decision and choice of His Excellency,” Okpor said.
He attributed the success to the governor’s continuous investment in the education sector and applauded students, teachers, and all stakeholders who contributed to the achievement.
As the Nwifuru-led administration approaches its second anniversary, the Commissioner encouraged residents to continue supporting the government, noting that even greater milestones lie ahead.
