The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 98 suspected internet fraudsters in simultaneous operations across Enugu and Ilorin, seizing luxury vehicles, electronic devices, and other items linked to alleged cybercrime.
In Enugu, 51 suspects—including three women and 48 men—were apprehended at the Premier Layout area of the state capital. Operatives recovered 18 luxury cars, high-end mobile phones, and laptop computers during the raid.
A separate operation in Ilorin led to the arrest of 47 individuals across Awolowo Road, Tanke, Harmony Estate, Ganmo, and Amoyo in Kwara State’s Ifelodun Local Government Area. Items seized included 10 luxury cars, 74 mobile phones, 18 laptops, and a motorcycle.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed the arrests in a Tuesday statement, noting the actions followed “credible intelligence” tying the suspects to fraudulent online activities. The commission reiterated its commitment to combating cybercrime, urging the public to report suspicious financial dealings to its offices nationwide.
