The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has issued a stern warning to customers to settle outstanding electricity bills or face disconnection from its network. In a statement released Friday, the utility firm emphasized that postpaid customers must clear their current charges by the 15th day of each subsequent month, with overdue payments attracting immediate penalties.
EEDC urged customers to leverage its Accelerated Settlement of Arrears Project, a discount initiative designed to help users resolve accumulated debts. However, the company cautioned that those failing to comply would face disconnection drives in the coming days, with reconnection fees imposed on defaulters.
“Customers are advised not to delay payments until marketers visit. Settle bills promptly at EEDC offices or authorized agents to avoid disruptions,” the statement read. The firm reiterated that electricity bills reflect consumption from the prior month and stressed the importance of timely payments to maintain uninterrupted service.
