The Imo State House of Assembly has passed a unanimous vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hope Uzodimma, and the All Progressives Congress (APC), formally endorsing Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement came during Governor Uzodimma’s State of the State Address delivered at the Assembly Complex, where lawmakers applauded his remarks and expressed solidarity with the APC-led administration.
The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, who praised President Tinubu’s leadership, particularly his developmental strides and strategic investments in the Southeast region.
“President Tinubu has demonstrated exceptional commitment to national unity and equitable development. This endorsement reflects our trust in his leadership and our desire for continuity,” Iwuanyanwu said.
The lawmakers also commended Governor Uzodimma for what they described as remarkable achievements in infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment. Iwuanyanwu cited the governor’s efforts in road construction and his policies aimed at uplifting the socio-economic status of the people.
In addition, the APC received commendation as the foundation of democratic stability in the state and across the country. Lawmakers praised the party’s inclusiveness and its rising acceptance in regions that had previously been critical of its policies.
“The APC continues to demonstrate strong leadership and responsiveness to the needs of Nigerians. Its popularity is expanding, even in areas where it previously struggled to gain a foothold,” the deputy speaker noted.
