The Kpakpaji clan of Ezza South Local Government Area has formally endorsed Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru and the Senator representing Ebonyi Central, Kenneth Eze, for second terms in office. The resolution was reached during a constituency interactive session held at Senator Eze’s country home over the weekend.
Stakeholders and community leaders cited the dual performance of the Governor and the Senator as the primary motivation for the endorsement. The motion, moved by Barrister Petrus Elechi and seconded by Barrister Festus Nweke, received unanimous support from the gathered constituents, including academic leaders and youth representatives.
Professor Michael Awoke, Vice Chancellor of Ebonyi State University, praised the leaders for justifying the mandates they received in 2023. Similarly, Professor Jonathan Aliede of the National Open University of Nigeria highlighted Senator Eze’s success in facilitating federal employment for local youths and executing community-based projects across the senatorial zone.
Addressing the assembly, Senator Eze, who chairs the Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation, provided an account of his stewardship. He reported the facilitation of over 120 federal jobs, the construction of classroom blocks and healthcare centers, and the installation of solar-powered boreholes. He emphasized a policy of “permanent empowerment” through employment rather than temporary financial handouts.
The Senator also used the platform to call for regional stability, urging the Ezza clan to reject divisive politics and internal bickering. “Ezza South remains one indivisible entity,” Eze stated, advising political actors to desist from blackmail and rancor in favor of collective progress.
The President of the Kpakpaji Youth Assembly, Sunday Nwali, pledged the full mobilization of the youth wing to ensure a landslide victory for both the Governor and the Senator in 2027. He noted that the administration’s focus on youth welfare has earned it the continued loyalty of the clan’s younger demographic.
The endorsement marks a significant consolidation of grassroots support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi Central as political alignments begin to take shape ahead of the next general election cycle.
