A middle-aged man, Ogbonna (alias “Mourinho”), has been arrested by police in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, for allegedly murdering his ex-girlfriend, Chisom Ayogu, days before her planned wedding. The incident occurred at Ogbonna’s residence on New Anglican Road when Chisom visited to inform him of her forthcoming marriage. Witnesses reported a violent altercation ensued, leaving Chisom unconscious. She was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Chisom hailed from Amufie community, while Ogbonna is from Igogoro community, both in Igbo-Eze North LGA. Police have detained Ogbonna for interrogation.
