President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was conferred with the chieftaincy title “Dike Si Mba Anambra” (Warrior from the Diaspora) by traditional rulers representing all 179 communities in Anambra State during a ceremony at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Thursday. The honor, presented by Igwe Chidubem Iweka III, Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, recognized Tinubu’s national infrastructure initiatives, including road networks linking the Second Niger Bridge.
The title capped Tinubu’s one-day working visit to Anambra, where he inaugurated multiple projects under Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration. Igwe Iweka praised the president’s leadership, stating, “We appreciate your good works and pray for continued wisdom as you steer the ship of governance.”
Tinubu, visibly moved, described the recognition as “historic” and vowed to cherish it lifelong. “Our diversity must lead to prosperity. We must commit to Nigeria’s development together,” he affirmed, underscoring unity as a cornerstone of progress.
The event drew prominent figures including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Alex Otti (Abia), Peter Mbah (Enugu), and Works Minister Dave Umahi.
