Enugu Rangers International has secured the future of head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, extending his contract with the eight-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions until the end of the 2026 season. The renewal follows a high-level meeting between the coach and the club’s General Manager/CEO, Amobi Ezeaku, solidifying confidence in Ilechukwu’s leadership after a historic debut campaign.
Appointed on July 5, 2023, Ilechukwu, nicknamed “The Working One,” guided Rangers to their eighth NPFL title in the 2023/24 season, amassing 70 points from 38 matches with 21 wins, seven draws, and 10 losses. His tactical approach saw the team net 56 goals while conceding 33, clinching the trophy in dominant fashion.
Despite currently sitting ninth in the NPFL table, Rangers remain contenders for the President Federation Cup, set to face Kwara United in the semifinals on May 17, 2024
