Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has donated a brand-new bus to the Faculty of Nursing Sciences at the College of Medicine, Imo State University (IMSU), as part of efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and support healthcare education in the state.
The donation was formally presented on Wednesday by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, who reiterated the administration’s commitment to educational and healthcare development.
According to Anyaehie, the bus is meant to ease transportation challenges for faculty members and students, especially for clinical and academic activities. He praised Governor Uzodimma for his broader achievements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, urging the university to maintain the vehicle and use it effectively.
Receiving the bus, the Provost of the College of Nursing Sciences, Prof. Jude Egwurugwu, expressed deep gratitude to the Governor. He noted that the Department of Nursing Services had recently been upgraded to a full faculty, thanks to the state’s support, allowing the university to admit more students into its nursing programs.
He also acknowledged the Governor’s funding of the faculty’s resource assessment, a key requirement for increasing student intake and expanding academic capacity.
