The Abia State Government has condoled with the family of Ugochukwu Kingston Elefue, Permanent Secretary at Government House Umuahia, who died unexpectedly on May 11, 2025. During a condolence visit to the family in Amawom Oboro, Ikwuano LGA, on Saturday, Governor Alex Otti’s Chief of Staff, Caleb Ajagba—represented by Director of Administration Nwomiko Udo-Nwokocha—described Elefue as a “humble, compassionate, and effective leader” who excelled in his role.
Benadeth Oluchi Ubani, Chairperson of the Government House Staff Welfare Association, praised Elefue’s supportive leadership and lamented the sudden loss. The deceased’s brother, Ifeanyi Elefue, thanked the government for its solidarity, stating the family drew comfort from the visit. The state pledged continued support to the bereaved family during the mourning period.
