The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Lagos Command has transferred notorious crime suspect Obi Levi Obieze to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation into alleged abduction, kidnapping, and ritual killing. Police Public Relations Officer CSP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the handover at the Ikeja Command Headquarters on Friday.
Obieze, alias “Levi Obu Onyeka,” was arrested by NIS operatives on May 29, 2025, at the Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme border while attempting to flee Nigeria on a motorcycle. Intelligence linked him to the kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl in Isiagu Community, Enugu State, where she was rescued from a shrine tied to Obieze. Two decomposing bodies were later discovered on his property.
NIS Comptroller General Kemi Nandap earlier verified Obieze’s identity through a National Identity Management Commission slip found in his possession. The suspect reportedly confessed to the crimes during initial interrogation.
