The Institute for Social Peace and Intercultural Competence (ISPIC) has inaugurated its German Centre and German Language School at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu, marking a bold step toward bridging cultural divides and equipping Nigerian youths with globally relevant skills. The initiative, launched in partnership with Chovach Global Concept Ltd., aims to foster intercultural dialogue, technical education, and civil society development while addressing Nigeria’s socioeconomic challenges.
ISPIC founder Engr. Anthony Dominic described the project as a transformative platform for youth empowerment. “We are elevating young Nigerians by providing free access to German language training and technical skills, enabling them to thrive in their careers while tackling economic hurdles,” he stated. Co-founder Dr. Emeka Ani, reflecting on his own struggles abroad 26 years ago, emphasized accessibility: “This is the opportunity I never had. All we ask is commitment—learn the language, acquire a skill, and unlock your potential.”

German representative Dr. Stefan Eschbach highlighted the center’s role in strengthening bilateral ties. “Germans value practicality and results. This hub will nurture meaningful collaborations between our nations,” he said. Professor Dr. Ulrich Hemel, the headline sponsor, urged Nigeria to leverage the initiative, calling Africa a “continent of hope” and stressing the need for partnerships focused on rural development, healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment. “Strategic alliances between Europe and Africa can transform lives,” he added.
ISPIC’s Executive Director, Rev. Fr. Prof. Ikechukwu Ani, outlined the institute’s mission to promote mutual cultural respect and drive advocacy through media engagement. “This center will connect Nigeria globally, offering solutions to longstanding issues while empowering youths via academic and technical programs,” he said. The initiative includes a School of Technical Acquisition and Research Institutes dedicated to civil society development.

IMT Rector Prof. Gozie Ogbodo hailed the partnership as pivotal to the institution’s global academic resurgence. He noted reforms such as stricter attendance policies and new courses aimed at boosting productivity. “Hosting ISPIC aligns with our vision to reclaim IMT’s stature as a leader in innovation and education,” Ogbodo stated.
Set to commence training by June 1, the German Centre will offer language classes and skill acquisition programs, positioning itself as a beacon of hope for Nigerian youths.
