The United Kingdom has reopened its visa application centers in Enugu and Port Harcourt, Nigeria, following a six-month closure aimed at consolidating operations. Services resumed this week at new locations: Enugu’s Omedel Luxury Hotel and Port Harcourt’s Hotel Presidential, managed by VFS Global.
The British High Commission confirmed the relaunch, emphasizing streamlined processes for applicants. “Residents in Enugu can now access UK visa services locally through our Premium Application Centre at Omedel Luxury Hotel, ensuring a smoother experience,” VFS stated. Similarly, Port Harcourt applicants are directed to Hotel Presidential.
The centers, previously operated by TLScontact, were shuttered in November 2023 when the UK centralized services at a larger Lagos facility. The reopening addresses regional demand, reducing travel burdens for southeastern and southern Nigerian applicants.
VFS Global, now overseeing all Nigerian UK visa operations, encourages online bookings for appointments at the newly operational sites.
